Discipleship

We at Northminster take seriously Jesus' great commission in Matthew 28:18-20

And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Go therefore and make DISCIPLES of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.  And remember I am with you always, to the end of the age.'     (Matt. 28:18-20 NRSV)

The life of discipleship is more that just getting the information right, it is about living a transformed life.  Jesus commissions his disciples to go out and make more disciples.  Growing in our own discipleship means we should be encouraging others as well!  Below are just a few examples of how we do this.

Nursery

Discipleship begins with our littlest of children.  It is to such as these that the kingdom belongs!  So we offer a nursery filled with love and care for infants through Kindergarteners during the Sunday School hour and worship.

Children's Discipleship - Sunday School

Live B.I.G. helps children see, hear, and live their Belief In God.  The course includes short video segments that bring faith-filled, high-energy excitement to the classroom with characters who model B.I.G. behavior, travel segments featuring B.I.G. ministries by everyday B.I.G. people, and cool music for your kids’ ears.  Click on the icon to the left for tons of helpful stuff.

The classes are split up

3 Year Old - Kindergarten

First - Third Grade

Fourth - Seventh Grade

 

Adult Discipleship

We use the Kerygma Program adult Bible studies in our Sunday morning adult class.  In this class you will learn the basics and the complexities of the Bible, develop skills for interpreting Scripture, and apply learning from the Bible to personal and corporate life in today's world.

Vacation Bible School - VBS

Each summer we put on a VBS for the kids.  This past summer our theme was Crocodile Dock.  We learned that God is with us, God is powerful, God does what he says he'll do, God gives us life and God cares for us!
